A soybean harvester is an agricultural machine specifically designed for harvesting fresh edamame. It uses a specific mechanical structure to complete the harvesting, conveying, pod-threshing, and cleaning of edamame plants in a single operation. During operation, a divider at the front of the machine guides and straightens the edamame plants, while a cutting device then severs the plants at the base. The plants are then conveyed into the pod-threshing drum chamber via a conveying system. Inside the pod-threshing chamber, rotating drums use gentle yet efficient impact and friction to separate the edamame pods from the plant stems.
