1. Main types
Roller press: the most common, through multiple (usually 3-6) high-pressure rollers in series to squeeze sugarcane, juice flows out from the roller gap, and residue (bagasse) is discharged. Multi-stage squeezing gradually improves squeezing efficiency.
Diffusion juice extraction system: similar to the leaching method, sugar is extracted by soaking sugarcane bagasse in hot water, suitable for large-scale sugar factories, but it needs to be used with a press.
Continuous screw press: suitable for small and medium-scale processing, squeezing sugarcane through a spiral shaft, compact structure but slightly lower squeezing rate.
2. Core structure
Pressing roller: made of high-hardness alloy, with teeth or grooves on the surface to enhance friction.
Transmission system: high-power motor (up to hundreds of kilowatts) drives gears or hydraulic systems.
Juice collection tank: made of stainless steel, equipped with a filter to separate impurities.
Automatic cleaning device: prevent bagasse from clogging and ensure continuous operation.
3. Workflow
Pretreatment: sugarcane is cut and torn (crusher required) into thin strips to increase juice yield.
Multi-stage pressing: sugarcane passes through each pressing roller in turn, and the pressure increases step by step (the final pressure can reach 300-400 tons).
Juice and residue separation: bagasse can be pressed twice or used as boiler fuel/papermaking raw material; juice is sent to clarification and evaporation processes.

Processing capacity: large equipment can process 200-500 tons of sugarcane per hour.
Juice yield: up to 92-98% (combined with permeate water circulation).
Power: depending on the scale, the power of a single machine ranges from 50-500kW.
